Issue Overveiw
This is the most well-kmnown issue of Extinctioners, since it was printed
by a fairly well-known independant published most mainstream readers know
it as "That X-men with animals" and some even own the issue by it's beautiful
digital colour. I talked to a few X-men fans who adored this first
issue and didn't even know that the comic was still in print.
Most of the regulars in the series aren't introduced yet in this issue so you'll see a whole lot a Scarlet and Red, (A whole lot in the backup ;) ) and Katherine. A slightly thinner Max is in the firs coiuple pages, and he comes back later. This is one of my favorate issues.
Page one Frame two
A female Fox in the background is wearing a fish-net shirt with no
Bra, O.o this kind of shirt seems popular in Alden, in issue six we see
Catrina wearing one, as well as Chester Ringtail in his Cameo.
Page Two Banner
In the Marquie in the Background there are several refereces to other
comics Published by Vision at the time. "Shanda the panda", "Katmandu"
and another marque reads "Copycat" Max's future codename. Shawtae
at this time was a regular penciler of Katmandu. All of these (Includeding
Exticntioners) were later printed by Shadna Fantasy Arts.
Page Three Frame Three
A poster on the Telephone Pole in the Background reads "Shanda the
Movie" and displays a picture of Shanda.
Page Three Frame Four
The cat turing around is wearing a Red shirt that reads "New Horizons"
witch is the first comic Tamar was printed in.
Page Four Frames One and Two
The flag behind the Presedent on the the televiosn screen first has
nine stripes, three of with by the blue box containjng the paw symbol.
In the next frame only two stripes appear beside the flag.
Page Five Frames One and Two
In the first Frame the Omega hunter Apears ot be a Bronze colour, the
next it is white. Of corse this could be because of the Lighting.
Page Six Frame Four
This frame is teh first Time Katherine uses her power, wich would explain
why It dind't work on her cloths.
Page Nine Frame Two
This Picture of Red throwing a fireball is commonly used in Promotions.
Page Fourteen Frame One
Gramatical Error: "Quick and Fast" have the same meaning.
Page Fourteen Frame Two
This Shot features an Ashcan character who I hope will Re-Apear, Vixahn
Blackfox, AKA "Pain" She is makes other cameos later in the series,
so I assume she was Captuted in this attack, since Red states: "They would
Capture some Vulpines and Kill all the others"
Page Fifteen Frame Five
Scarlet Becomes the First person to be shown Nude in the Series.
On the Next page Red becomes the Second, though he's only shown from the
waiste up, sorry ladies.
Page Sixteen Frame Three
Scarlet Displays a Picture of her Brother. Ed Mentioned since
the Couple had been shareing a Room Red would probabl have asked about
her Brother before, or would have known. Of corse this can be excused
since this scene was for the sake of the reader.
Page Seventeen Full Page
One of My favorate art peices in the Series. Abolutely beautiful,
is a real testamint of Tamar's atention to detail, (Kathrine's slippers
underneath the cot, the firnge of her panties showing though the hole in
her pants) also is amazeing ability to show emotion, you can really feel
for this character just by her face. If I could buy any original
page from the series, I would get this one.
Page Eighteen
I could never quite Figure out who this unknown fur was talking the
B'jer. I asume it's just one of his flunkies. All we see is
his paw.
Page Twenty-Five Frame Six
Foxy's neckline sudenly droops to show more of her chest.
Page Twenty-Five Frame Seven
Looks closely at the bottom of the Page near the base of the second
explosion, is that the Hammer and Sickle symbol of Communism? Probably
not but it kinda looks like it.
